This thesis deals with Chun Se Bong(1915~1986), an author who holds great importance in North Korea's history of literature. Chun Se Bong is an author who had held a special position even in the political field of North Korea along with his clear creative ability. As he held a key position as a second generation author in the history of North Korea's history of literature along with Baik In Jun and Hwang Gun, etc. following the first generation authors such as Lee Ki Young and Han Sul Ya, etc, he was also an author faithful to history of literature before the Independence(1945, 8, 15) and to the role of a bridge toward the juche literature theory which gets formed after 1960's. He is being clearly recognized for his idealistic and creative ability in North Korea's history of literature such as publishing 2 volumes out of 15 volume series called 'Indestructible History' after 1970's which praises so called Kim Il Sung's armed struggle against Japan. Also, with getting selected as a heart member of auther's alliance in 1954 as a beginning, he served as a member of the 7th delegation and establishment committee in 1982 and steadily laid foundation in literary and political fields until receiving Kim Il Sung medal in 1985. But his journey in North's Korea's history of literature wasn't always at the unchanging highway of upward curve. In other words, as he was passing through the transition period toward the literature based on single juche ideology which became effective as of 1967, he gets caught up in fierce ideological debate. In this process, one of his masterpieces called 'The New Hill Where the Mist Drifts' had faced the danger of being crossed by the praise from critique groups and criticism from Kim Il sung and this book of issue had faced misfortune of not even being mentioned in North Korea's history of literature ever since. Despite this incident, he skillfully breaks through the literal and ideological transition after 1960's as well as transforming firmly to the location which belongs to the mainstream of North Korea's history of literature. This manuscript points out one of characteristics of North Korea's history of literature as well as its limits by examining the difference in critique view of that era and how the author's attitude transforms toward 'The New Hill Where the Mist Drifts' which had risen as the book of issue during the transition period of North Korean history of literature after separating such life and creative writing process of Chun Se Bong. In conclusion, even the characters appearing in Chun Se Bong's book of issue called 'The New Hill Where the Mist Drifts' aren't able to get away from the fixed from of North Korea's literature which puts its basis on transposing confrontation between positive and negative characters and exactly follow the basic frame of character based series dealing with North Korean history in which the conclusion of the story leads to the tragic last moment of negative character and the positive character becoming a hero. This could be called the limits of North Korea's purpose based literature which leads to dual confrontation structure by setting direct plots and plain characters to heroize certain existing characters such as Kim Il Sung. Chun Se Bong gets to serve in idolization and deification of Kim Il Sung through literature by more actively going into the core of North Korea's literary policy which emphasizes the juche ideology as the main theme after 1967 by making 'The New Hill Where the Mist Drifts' of issue as a stepping stone.
