This paper has sought to examine the factors which exert influence upon marital happiness for Christian middle-aged women and whether the level of faith exerts influence upon the level of marital happiness. For this, the study has conducted a questionnaire survey based on random sampling of 391 Christian middle-aged women from 40 to 59 years of age who attend a church located in Gyeonggi-do.
This inquiry can be organized broadly in two sections. First, income level, educational level, number of married years, and level of faith were each used as an independent variable, and the level of marital happiness was used as a dependent variable. Then the report conducted a one-way ANOVA analysis. As a result, all of the independent variables which have been set showed a meaningful difference with the level of marital happiness. Second, this study has conducted a regression analysis to discover the factor which influences the level of marital happiness of Christian middle-aged women and the factor which exerts the greatest influence among income level, educational level, number of married years, and level of faith. As a result, the level of faith and income level were shown to influence the level of marital happiness, and the level of faith was shown to exert greater influence than the income level. As such, it can be considered that the results of this inquiry reveal that religious life and marriage life are not separate and that they can provide a basis for proceeding with faith centered counseling for field Christian Counseling including family ministry, couple counseling, etc.

본 연구는 기독교인 중년여성의 결혼행복도에 영향을 미치는 요인들은 무엇이며, 신앙정도가 결혼행복도에 영향을 미치는가를 알아보고자 하였다.
이를 위해 경기도에 위치한 교회에 출석하는 40세에서 59세까지의 기독교인 중년여성 391명을 대상으로 무선표집하여 설문조사를 실시하였으며, SPSS(statistical package for the social science) 15.0으로 통계자료를 분석하였다.
본 연구는 크게 두 부분으로 나눌 수 있는데, 첫째 소득수준, 교육수준, 결혼기간, 신앙정도를 각각 독립변인으로 하고 결혼행복도를 종속변인으로 하여 일원 분산분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 설정된 모든 독립변인이 결혼행복도와 유의미한 차이를 나타내었다.
둘째, 소득수준, 교육수준, 결혼기간, 신앙정도 중에서 기독교인 중년여성의 결혼행복도에 영향을 미치는 변인과 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변인을 밝혀내기 위해 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 신앙정도와 소득수준이 결혼행복도에 영향을 주는 변인으로 나타났으며, 소득수준보다는 신앙정도가 결혼행복도에 더 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.
따라서 본 연구의 결과는 신앙생활과 결혼생활이 분리된 것이 아님을 밝히고, 가정사역과 부부상담 등의 기독교상담 현장에서 신앙에 중심을 둔 상담이 진행될 근거를 제시할 수 있으리라 본다.
