This thesis studies the meaning of plasticity of transformation in media art by investigating narrativity in art history, from traditional art to contemporary media art. In particular, it adopts the concept of terminolology 'narratology',and applies it to diverse art works and artists such as "Calling of Moses"(Church of Santa Sabina), AES+F, Joao Martinho Moura, Philip Beesley and Frederik de Wilde. This thesis also examines differents notions of repetition in various works. Repetition plays a significant role in certain narratives. Repetition can conceptualize the moments and forms that are non-conceptual. This study considers not only the meaning of time, non-time, the structure of narratives and the narrative function of repetition, but also the narrativity of narratives and non-narratives, narratology of "interactivity" , "inter-relation between sound and form" and "hylozoic system".

본 논문은 영상예술의 변환과 변형(transformation)의 조형적인 의미를 전통적인 시대에서부터 현재 미디어 예술에 이르기까지 여러 작품에서 나타나는 ‘서사성’과 ‘조형성’을 연구하는데 목적을 둔다. 이 연구를 위하여, 서사학(narratology)의 조형적인 적용을 통하여 이야기와 조형사이의 연관 관계를 이해하고 자 하였다. 본 논문은 "모세의 소명“(Church of Santa Sabina) 작품과 AES+F, João Martinho Moura, Philip Beesley 와 Frederik de Wilde 등을 논의하며 다양한 서사적인 문제들을 연구한다. 여러 서사소(敍事素) 중 하나의 예 를 반복에서 찾으며, 이 반복은 개념화할 수 없는 순간과 형태들을 개념화하는 기능을 수행한다는 사실을 발견한다. 아울러 본 논문은 비-시간적인 의미들이나 서사적인 구조, 반복의 서사적인 기능뿐 만 아니라 비서사적인 대상이 갖는 서사성과 인터렉티브한 특성, 상호-관련성 등을 소리-형태의 변환관계, 움직임-선분의 변환관계, hylozoic한 오브제 등을 연구한다.
