Dangsaju has been familiar to ordinary korean people and, even today, is often used as fortune book in Korean. But it is not certain when Dangsaju was written, how the copies were spreaded and how many types of it exist. These problems come from that most of the extant copies don't have any information about when and how these were written. To solve these problems, I compared illustrations in Dangsaju with those in Yeongeum Dusu Samsesang, made in Song～Ming China, and Daieki Danrei Bokusei Genki, also made in China and copied in late 16～early 17 century Japan. From the comparison, I propose two hypotheses. First, the extant copies of Dangsaju can be divided into two types; Type-A and Type-B. The fact that the forms and colors of illustrations in Type-A are older than those of Type-B show that Type-A was formed earlier than Type-B. But it seems that Type-B, not only Type-A, comes from Yeongeum Dusu Samsesang made in Song～Ming China and popular in China and Japan. It is uncertain whether Type-A and Type-B come from Yeongeum Dusu Samsesang together or indi- vidually. Second, illustrations in Dangsaju(Type-A) from Korean National Library, are similar to those in Daieki Danrei Bokusei Genki from Shido library of Keio University. This similarity suggests that two copies came from the same book formed earlier than late 16～early 17 century.

『당사주』는 친숙함과 높은 활용도에 비하여 성립연대, 전래, 유형 등의 서지사항이 불분명하다. 이는 현존 『당사주』사본들에 필사기가 남아있는 경우가 거의 없다는 사실에도 기인한다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해서는 『당사주』에 실려 있는 문장/도상의 내용 및 배치를 검토할 필요가 있다. 졸고에서는 송-명대에 성립한 『연금두수삼세상』및, 중국에서 성립하여 일본에서 16세기말-17세기초에 필사된 『대역단례복서원귀』와의 비교를 통하여 『당사주』의 성립연대를 추정하고 유형을 분류하였다. <당사주 A형> 계통에 실려 있는 삽화의 구도 및 채색의 고졸함으로 미루어 보아, <당사주 A형> 계통은 <당사주 B형> 즉 유포본보다 이른 시기에 성립되었을 것으로 생각된다. 그러나, <당사주 A형>과 <당사주 B형>은 모두, 송-명대에 성립되어 중국과 일본에서 유행한 『연금두수삼세상』에서 기원하는 것으로 보인다. <당사주 A형>과 <당사주 B형>이 단일한 계통의 선후관계에 놓여있는지 아니면 서로 독립적으로 『연금두수삼세상』의 흐름에서 갈라져 나왔는지에 대해서는 향후 고찰이 필요하다. 또한, 국립중앙도서관 소장본 『당사주』(<당사주 A형>)의 삽화에서 16세기말-17세기초에 일본에서 필사된 중국본 『대역단례복서원귀』의 삽화와 공통되는 특성이 발견되는 것으로 보아, 16세기말-17세기초 이전에 두 문헌의 공통 조본이 존재하였음이 추정된다.
