The purpose of this study is to investigate of parents' perception, actual conditions and needs for economic education for young children. The Survey for parents' perception, actual conditions and needs for economic education for young children, a 17-item inventory were researched to 232 parents in G city. The collected data were analyzed with t-test, ANOVA, and x2 verification. The major results of this study were as follows. First, most parents feel keenly the necessity of economic education for young children and they answered that young children must get a economic education for 'the formation of good habits about economic'. Economic education for young children is most pertinent to 5-year-old children. Most parents are content with economic education in kindergarten and they have educate economic education for their children at home. And parents want parental education to teach economic education for young children.

본 연구는 유아교육기관과 가정을 연계한 유아경제교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초연구로 유아경제교육에 대한 부모들의 인식과 실태 및 요구를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 만 5 세 유아 부모 223명으로 경제교육에 대한 부모의 인식과 실태 및 요구를 알아보는 설문조사 를 실시하였다. 수집한 연구 자료는 빈도와 백분율 및 x2 검증, t-test, ANOVA, Schéffe 추후분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 연구대상 부모들은 유아경제교육의 필요성을 인식하고 있 으며， 그 이유로는 ‘경제에 대한 올바른 태도 형성’을　가장　많이 응답하였으며, 경제교육이 적절한 연령은 만 5세인 것으로 드러났다. 또한 가정에서 유아를 대상으로 경제교육을 실시 하고 있었으며, 가정에서 경제교육을 담당하는 사람은 어머니가 가장 많은 것으로 밝혀졌다. 뿐 만 아니라 유아경제교육 실시에 있어 부모의 요구를 살펴본 결과 유아경제교육을　위한　 부모교육이 필요하다고 응답한 비율이 높은 것으로 나타났다.
