A Teaching Method of Korean Pronunciation for Foreign Learners

This paper aims is to research one of the effective pronunciation teaching methods based on drama techniques designed by Wessles and Laroy for unnatural pronunciations. There are many teaching methods such as are relaxation & posture, breathing, voice exercises, the lip exercises, chanting, tongue-twister etc. and each are reformed to fit the characteristics of the Korean language. As for pauses and accents, mistakes which can occur while practicing speech have been exa! mines and the precautions were arranged and sorted out. The main reaso n for connecting pronunciation teaching methods and drama techniques is to increase the student’s understanding in pronunciation and methods to imitate sounds in order to be able to speak Korean fluently. Also, it is considered to be a very natural way to learn all the suprasegmental elements of the Korean language. It is expected to find that the process of practicing pronunciations is exciting and productive through newly developed drama techniques, which impose continuously and repetitively practice.
