As a basic research, this study compares how fish family drawing reflects a similar family dynamics as dynamic family drawing, and examines if fish family drawing can be used as a drawing diagnosis and testing device for investigating dynamics between families. 139 students from elementary school to high school were chosen as subjects of this study. KFD (Kinetic Family Drawing) and fish family drawing were used for measurement. Data was collected from October 17 to 29, 2008. Drawings of six subjects that were unable to interpret were excluded and other drawings of the remaining 133 subjects were used as study material. As for analysis, the frequency of factors such as the sequence of characters, omission of family members, siege or vigilance, size of parents compared to him or herself, distance from him/herself and parents, direction that characters are facing were compared between fish family drawings and dynamic family drawings in percentage (%). Study results indicated that the character who the child drew first, omission of a character, siege and vigilance of characters, distance between mother and father, distance between the father and him/herself among distance factors, direction of the father and him/herself, mother and him/ herself among character direction factors all identically reflected dynamics of family. However, the size of parents compared to him/herself, distance between the mother and him/herself among distance factors, direction of the father and mother among character direction factors did not show similar family dynamics between the two drawing tests. Both drawing tests reflected family dynamics identically except some factors. This indicates that fish family drawing may be an useful device for diagnosing dynamics of family. However, limitations of this study are that sibling relationships were excluded and the age of subjects was not even. Therefore, additional studies should be done by expanding study subjects and enforcing comparative analysis on various factors. Based on this study, we propose that fish family drawing should be standardized and clinically used through reliability and validity verification. 본 연구는 물고기 가족화가 동적 가족화와 유사한 가족의 역동성을 반영하는가에 대 한 비교 연구를 통하여 물고기 가족화가 가족 간의 역동성을 알아보는 그림 진단검사 도구로 사용할 수 있는가에 대하여 알아 보는 기초적 조사이다. 연구 대상은 초 등학생부터 고등학생까지 총 139명을 대상으로 하였고, 측정 도구로는 동적 가족화(KFD：Kinetic Family Drawing)와 물 고기 가족화를 사용하였다. 2008년 10월 17일부터 10월 29일에 걸쳐 자료를 수집하여 그림 판독이 불가한 6명의 그림을 제외하고 133명의 그림을 연구 자료로 사용하였다. 분석 방법은 인물상을 그린 순서, 가족 구성원의 생략, 포위 또는 경계, 자 신과 비교한 부모상의 크기, 자신과 부모상과의 거리, 인물상의 방향 등의 변인에 대 하여 물고기 가족화와 동적 가족화에서 나타나는 특성의 빈도를 백분율(%)로 비교하였다. 연구 결과 가장 먼저 그린 인물상 의 순서, 인물상의 생략 유무, 인물상의 포위 및 경계 유무, 자신과 부모상의 거리 변인 중 아버지와 어머니, 아버지와 자신과 의 거리, 인물상간의 방향 변인 중 아버 지와 자신, 어머니와 자신은 두 그림 검사가 동일하게 가족의 역동성을 반영하였다. 그러나 자신과 비교한 부모상의 크기, 자 신과 부모상의 거리 변인 중 어머니와 자신과의 거리, 인물상의 방향 변인 중 아버지 와 어머니의 방향은 두 그림검사가 반영 하는 가족의 역동성이 유사하지 않았다. 몇가지 요인을 제외하고 두 그림 검사가 동일 하게 가족의 역동성을 반영하였는데 이 는 물고기 가족화가 가족의 역동성을 진단하는 유용한 도구로서의 가능성이 있음을 시사한다. 그러나 본 연구에서 피검자의 형제관계를 배제했고 연구 대상의 연령이 고르지 못했다는 제한점이 있다. 따라서 후 속 연구를 통하여 연구 대상을 확대하 고, 다양한 변인에 대해 비교 분석을 할 필요가 있으며 본 연구를 토대로 신뢰도와 타 당도 검증을 통해 물고기 가족화를 표 준화하고 임상적으로 활용할 것을 제언하는 바이다.
