The purpose of this study is to analyze effects of self-efficacy on basic physical fitness when school students regularly participate behind after-school; it also had an objective to implement fundamental recourses and definite training methods to improve their physical self-efficacy and basic physical fitness for children. The subjects in this study were 54 students in four classes of sixth-grade from D elementary school in Won-Ju. The experimental group was allowed to set up specific goals by student, and the control group was asked to attain the same goals presented by their teacher. children was utilized to measure the task and ego orientation in physical education classes. Another Korean version of physical self-efficacy scale was used to measure perceived physical self-efficacy and physical self-expression efficacy. children was utilized to measure the basic physical fitness for children. For example, sit-up, short distance runnig , long distance running and a standing long jump. For goal-setting, Yoo’s (2000) and Locke’s(1968) ladder goal-setting form was used to help subjects divide their goals into various stages of objectives. After its application, t-test was given to know the data processing method of verification on significance of each group.
