The purpose of this paper is to suggest the principles of the pastoral education and curriculum development in theology from a pedagogical perspective. For that purpose, 1 discussed three points. First is the presupposition of pastoral education. Even though liberal arts should be emphasized as the primary subjects for the pastoral education, current curriculum are tend to neglect that point. As thε rεsult of that our church experiences degrading of the quality of pastors. Therefore, 1 emphasize the importance of liberal arts as the foundation of pastoral education. Second, 1 propose the three steps of theological education. First step is the theology education in the seminary as academic foundation of future ministry. Second step is practical training period in the church before ordination. Last step is the continuing education of pastors. In the last parts of the paper 1 proposed some suggestions for improving theological curriculum of Presbyterian Church of Korea.

목회자 양성을 위한 신학 교육을 어떻게 실천하는 것이 이 시대에 가장 적합한 방법이 될 것이며 특별히 장로교회 신학교들이 신학 교육을 어떻게 개선하는 것이 과연 바람직한지를 교육 신학의 관점에서 논의하고자 한다.
논의의 초점은 크게 세 가지라고 볼 수 있다. 첫째 장로교회의 목회자 양성교육의 전제 조건에 대한 것이다. 장로교회 목회자 양성 교육의 전제인 인문교육에 대한 요구가 무너지고 있는 현실에서 목회자들의 인문교육부재현상은 한국 교회의 목회자의 질을 하락시키고 한국 교회 내 이단들이 공생하는 결과를 초래한 것으로 판단되어 신학 교육의 전제 조건인 인문학 교육의 중요성을 강조하였다. 둘째， 목회자 양성을 위한 신학 교육의 3단계 과정 신설 적용에 관한 논의로， 1단계는 신학의 학문(이론)적 토대를 놓는 신대원의 신학교육과정이며， 2단계는 강도(설교)사의 목회 실습과 훈련과정이며， 3단계는 목사의 계속 교육 과정을 언급하였다. 셋째， 신학 교육 과정의 개선에 대한 몇 가지 방안에 대해 제언하였다.
