This study has identified the impact of action learning team members' emotional intelligence on their problem solving capability not only in a direct way, but also through the partial mediation of learning coach's emotional intelligence. Testing data were collected through survey questionnaires from 96 participants of three companies in Seoul, Korea, who had experienced the action learning project in their companies and analyzed them on an individual level. The survey data on team members' emotional intelligence and problem solving capability have been prepared by the respondents as a self-report method and the level of learning coach's emotional intelligence has been evaluated by team members as perceived by themselves. In addition to the direct effect of team member's emotional intelligence on their problem solving capability, the regression analysis recommended by Baron & Kenney has validated the mediation effect of learning coach's emotional intelligence between team member's emotional intelligence and problem solving capability.

본 논문은 액션러닝 프로젝트에 참가하는 팀원의 감성지능이 그들의 문제해결 능력에 미치는 영향을 규명하는 연구이다. 이 때 러닝코치의 감성지능이 팀원의 감성지능과 문제해결 능력 관계 사이에서 부분 매개역할을 한다는 것을 검증하였다. 국내기업 3개 회사로부터 액션 러닝 프로젝트에 참가한 경험이 있는 팀원 96명을 대상으로 설문조사를 한 데이터를 개인차원에서 분석하였다. 팀원의 감성지능 및 문제해결 능력은 설문지를 이용하여 자기보고식으로 작성하였으며, 러닝코치의 감성지능은 팀원이 지각하는 바에 따라 팀원이 평가하는 방식으로 작성하였다. 본 연구 결과는 팀원의 감성지능이 직접적인 방식뿐만 아니라, 러닝코치의 감성지능을 매개로하여 문제해결 능력에 통계적으로 유의하게 정(+)적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 실증했다는 점에서 의미가 있다.
