In order to observe the difference in sex psychology of brain damaged patients according to their cognitive functions, clinical art therapy interviews were carried out on 34 brain damaged patients. The clinical art therapy interview’s main focus was on sexual interests and desires of the patients, and additional investigations were carried out to examine their cognitive functions, speech functions and daily life capacities. The results show that, whether there is a large or small difference in cognitive functions, speech functions and daily life capacities there was no difference in direct or symbolic sexual expressions made by the patients. However, patients with higher levels of speech functions showed a tendency to make more symbolic sexual expressions than the other patients. This demonstrates that the suppressed sexual interests and desires of brain damaged patients and the worries regarding sex rehabilitation were naturally expressed through the medium of art during clinical art therapy. 임상미술 치료적 면접을 통해 뇌손상 환자의 인지기능에 따른 성 심리의 차이를 고찰하기 위하여 뇌손상 환자 34명을 대상으로 성적인 관심과 욕구를 주제로 한 임상미술치료적 면접과 인지기능, 언어기능, 일상 생활능력에 대한 조사를 실시하였다. 결과를 살펴보면 인지기능, 언어기능, 일상생활능력 등에 차이가 있 더라도 높든지 낮든지 간에 직접적 또는 상징적인 성적인 표현을 나타내는 정도에는 차이가 없었다. 하지 만 언어 기능이 높은 경우에는 보다 상징적인 성적 표현을 하는 경우가 높았다. 이는 뇌손상 환자들이 억압 되었던 성 적인 관심과 욕구 그리고 성 재활에 대한 걱정을 임상미술치료의 과정에서 자연스럽게 미술이라 는 매체를 통해 표출하였음을 알 수 있다.
