In this article, I would like to explore a little further the proper direction of the correctional social welfare science, including problems and contents of the diverse correctional books. The existing correction theory about producing correction public service of offenders or criminals inclusive of culprits or juvenile deliguents has been marked by great administrative or legal approach which has been kept up for a long time in the korean correction science academy. But, viewed in the applied science light of the correctional social welfare study which has dominated the correctional social welfare academy recently, the concept of correctional social welfare science cannot be easily defined without referring to the applied approach of it. As a conesquence, we need to expend the concept of correctional social welfare to the applied science which includes social science, natunal science and philosophy. Oherwise, correctional social welfare science word gives us a wrong idea which it's essense and meaning lies in social science only. Of courese, there are few objections which can be raised against my insistence of correctional social welfare science concept. But, as the purpose of this paper is concerned, it is not necessary to discuss the few objections against my insistence in detail. Therefore, I limit the discussion to the problem which is involved in the diverse correctional welfare book in korea. I chose this topic, not mly because it was debatable, but aso because it is the new paradigm in relation to the contents of correctional social welfare. As has been noted, We are here concened with the key aspects of the problem which is involed in the diverse books related to the correctional social welfare. Therefore, from what has been discussed above, it seems reasonable to conclude that the concept of correctional social welfare science should have unity.

범죄인 또는 수형자에 대한 교화서비스를 생산하는 교정론이 해방이후의 지금까지의 주류적인 패러다임으로 사회과학적 영역이었다. 그리고 교정복지 또는 교정사회복지란 범죄인 또는 수용자에 대한 교화서비스를 사회복지학적인 기술방법론을 통하여 생산하는 일체의 활동을 하는 응용과학적인 복합학적 개념이다. 기존에는 법학적 또는 행정관리적 개념인 교정적 접근법으로 수용자나 범죄인을 교화하는 서비스를 제공했지만 범죄의 다양화와 다양한 개인역사에 근거한 수용자들이 현대에 와서 점증함에 따라 이제는 기존의 행정적, 관리적 접근으로는 교정서비스의 실질적인 한계생산의 제고에 한계가 있음을 알게 되었고 이에 따라 대두된 개념이 교정복지 또는 교정사회복지학이다. 외국에서 케이스방법론으로 등장한 이러한 교정복지학이 한국에 1990년대 이후에 소개됨에 따라 교정복지에 관한 다양한 연구저서들이나 대학교재가 출간하게 되었다. 그런데 이런 다양한 연구저서들이 제각기 워낙 다양한 스펙트럼과 내용을 가지고 있어 통일성이 없음은 물론이고 취급하는 범위가 다 달라 올바른 교정복지이론의 정체성 확립에 문제가 되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존의 교정복지 저서들에 나타난 연구내용의 특징과 문제점들을 살펴봄으로써 앞으로의 교정복지의 지향점과 연구방향을 제시하고자 하는 것이 본 논문의 목적이다.
