The study performs analysis on the current roles performed by educational supervisor and the future functions needed to improve the educational power of school. This study aims on suggesting how the roles of educational supervisor should be reestablished. For the purpose, AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method was employed to survey the educational supervisors and school teachers. From the survey, the relative importance in the future and the current performance of the roles to be addressed by the educational supervisors were analyzed. As a result, the relative importance of the future role was ranked as 1) planning and managing 2) support and research, in terms of policy area, and 1) educational policy planning 2) human resource management 3) material resource management, consulting supports 5) school diagnosis and evaluation 6) teachers’ activities and training supports 7) research development and support 8) communication and adjustment, in terms of detailed policy element, and with same significance. The current performance showed similar result as the future relative importance. Such result shows that the elements of roles set up by this study are logical and realistic.

이 연구는 단위학교 교육력 제고를 위해 교육전문직이 향후 어떠한 역할을 수행해야 하고, 현재 어떠한 역할을 수행하고 있는지를 분석함으로써, 교육전문직의 역할 재정립을 위한 시사점을 찾는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 교육전문직과 교원을 대상으로 AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) 방법으로 조사하고, 교육전문직 역할의 향후 중요도와 현재 수행도를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 향후 중요도는 역할 영역별로 1) 기획 및 관리, 2) 지원 및 연구 순으로 나타났고, 영역 요소별로 1) 교육정책 기획, 2) 인적자원관리, 3) 물적자원관리, 컨설팅 지원, 5) 학교진단 및 평가, 교원능력개발 지원, 7) 연구개발 및 보급, 8) 소통 및 조정의 순으로 나타났으나 가중치에 있어서 큰 차이는 없었고, 현재 수행도는 향후 중요도와 거의 비슷하게 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 이 연구에서 설정한 교육전문직 역할의 각 요소가 논리적, 현실적 타당성이 있음을 보여준다.
