The purpose of this study is to explore the concepts of time and 'being' in my own video art works. For this study I'll first analyze the artistic form and technologies of the works and then look at the concepts of time and being the art works imply. The followings are the summary of the concepts; the presence and ‘being’ as the line between past and future, the multiple flows of time and multiple ‘beings’, and ‘being’ revived as the presence in the memory of the space. My point of view on time in each work may be not consistent. It includes both the immanent manner and the external manner about time and the artistic imagination is added to those manners. Despite the inconsistent manner on time, one conclusion I can draw is that the concepts of ‘being’ would also change depending on how we understand time. I'll continue to experiment with time-based media and others such as interactive media in order to extend my understanding on time and 'being'.

본 연구의 목적은 본인의 영상작품에 드러나는 시간성과 존재의 문제를 살펴보는 데에 있다. 먼저 각 작품의 제작방법과 표현형식을 개괄적으로 요약하고 그 안에 나타나는 시간성과 존재에 대한 작가의 철학적 관점을 살펴본다. 이는 다음의 세 주제로 요약된다. 과거와 미래의 접선으로서의 현재와 ‘나’, 다중적 현재와 동시에 존재하는 여러 명의 ‘나’, ‘공간의 기억 속에서 현재로 되살아나는 과거의 ’나‘. 시간에 대한 작가의 관점은 내재적 시간관과 외재적 시간관을 모두 포함하며 작가의 상상력이 더해져 다분히 주관적이다. 그러나 다소 모순되고 주관적인 본인의 접근법에도 불구하고 얻을 수 있는 결론은 시간을 이해하는 관점에 따라 우리의 존재에 대한 인식도 달라진다는 것이다. 그리고 시간과 존재에 대한 새로운 이해를 도모하기 위하여 본인은 영상매체뿐 아니라 인터랙티브 미디어 등을 이용한 다양한 미학적 실험을 지속할 것이다.
