This research discusses prediction of managers’ intentions to adopt new information technology (IT) in an effort to develop a framework to help organizations make better informed decisions on IT adoption—a framework that is further developed using a grounded theory approach. Since organizational IT investment decisions result from individual managerial decisions typically made by senior managers, this research proposes an IT adoption decision model with a theoretical basis in the theory of planned behavior (TPB). The proposed model explains IT-specific external constructs and their relationships, and can help researchers and practitioners explain, predict, and control the managers’ intentions to adopt IT within an organization.

본 연구는 새로운 information technology (IT)를 수용하는 조직에 있어서 보다 나은 의사결정을 관리자의 수용의도를 예측하는 framework를 grounded theory approach를 통해 개발하는 것에 대해 논의하고 있다. 조직의 IT투자결정은 각각 개인의, 일반적으로 senior경영자의 경영의사결정에 내려지고 있기 때문에, 이 연구는 theory of planned behavior (TPB)의 이론적 배경에 근거를 두고 수용결정model를 제안하고 있다. 제안된 model은 IT의 명백한 외적 요소들과 그들의 관계들을 설명하고 있고, 연구자들과 현업전문가들이 경영자들의 조직 내의 IT의 수용의도를 설명하고, 예측하고, 관리하는 데에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.
