Hee Mo Yim The article suggests a new mission paradigm in the climate change era, analyzing the ecological mission on ‘the Grove of Grace’ mission project against the desertification in Mongolia, which has been promoted by Korea Christian Environmental Movement Solidarity (KCEMS). The article also describes some implications of the Grove of Grace mission for forestation for North Korea. The article consists of four parts. First, the article analyzes the current situations of the Mongolian churches and of the desertification. A possibility of the Mongolian churches is too weak to participate in the ecological mission to protect from desertification in Mongolia. On the other hand the desertification has been deteriorated through both human factors and nature factors. Second, the ‘Grove of Grace’ mission of the KCEMS are discussed: Its aims to plant trees and to establish an ecological community, theological understanding of Green Messiah Jesus, mission activities in Mongolia, and missiological approaches such as NGO mission and ecological integral mission. Third, the significances and prospects of the Grove of Grace mission are examined. The mission has been promoted through the Korean churches which emphasized sharing of faith in the Green Messiah Jesus. In addition the churches excercise to share money, materials and mission funds with Mongolia. The ecological integral mission which includes personal salvation and social development is necessary to be followed by both professional mission and business mission. Fourth, the article discusses some implications of the Grove of Grace mission to forestation for North Korea which has been suffered seriously from deterioration of forests. The ecological mission of the Grove of Grace contributes to establish a new paradigm of mission in the era of climate change.

본 논문은 기후 재앙의 위기 시대에 통전적 생태선교라는 새로운 선교 패러다임을 제시한다. 이를 위하여 몽골에서 사막화 방지를 위한 나무심기 선교를 실시하고 있는 기독교환경운동연대의 ‘은총의 숲’ 생태선교를 분석한다. 더 나아가 이러한 은총의 숲 생태선교의 경험이 주는 북한의 산림녹화 생태선교에 적용할 수 있는 함축적 가능성을 제안하고 있다. 본 논문은 크게 4부분으로 구성된다. 첫 부분은 몽골의 사막화 위기에 대처하는 선교를 몽골 기독교가 수행할 수 있는지 여부를 타진하고 몽골 사막화의 특징을 논의한다. 몽골 기독교는 개종과 교회 개척을 중심으로 선교를 하는 교회로서 국가적 재앙을 대처하는 생태적 선교를 하기에는 취약점이 많다. 한편 몽골 사막화는 지구 온난화라는 기후 변화의 자연적 요인과 인간의 행위로 인한 인간적 요인이 복합적으로 작용하여 일어나는 현상으로 분석된다. 둘째 부분은 몽골 사막화 방지를 위하여 나무심기 선교를 수행하는 (한국)기독교환경운동연대의 ‘은총의 숲’ 생태선교를 분석한다. 은총의 숲 선교는 몽골의 3지역에서 이루어지는데, 궁극적으로 나무심기를 넘어 생태마을 조성 선교를 지향하고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 은총의 숲 선교의 신학적 배경과 생태론적 통전적 선교를 분석한다. 셋째 부분은 은총의 숲 생태선교의 의미와 과제를 다룬다. 은총의 숲 선교는 나눔의 선교이며 NGO 선교이다. 한국 교회(기환연)는 녹색 메시야 예수의 복음과 믿음과 물질과 재화를 몽골과 나누는 것이다. 이것은 한국의 여러 시민 단체들이 연대하고 협력하는 NGO 차원에서 선교가 진행되고 있다. 또한 몽골의 여러 단체들이 이 생태선교에 참여하고 있다. 또한 은총의 숲 선교는 전문인 선교와 비즈니스 선교를 통하여 진행되고 효율성을 높일 수 있다. 끝으로 본 논문은 ‘은총의 숲’ 생태선교가 북한에 주는 함의를 다룬다. 북한의 산림 황폐화를 극복할 수 있는 산림녹화 사업에 한국 교회(기환연)가 은총의 숲 생태선교 경험을 나눌 수 있다. 기환연(남한교회)은 녹색 메시야 예수에 대한 신앙을 북한 주민들과 나누는 행위로서 북한에 나무를 심고 통전적 선교를 하는 것이다. 이러한 생태적 북한 선교는 전문인 선교가 뒤따름으로써 북한을 복음화하고 남북 통일을 이룰 수 있다. 한국 교회가 추진하는 몽골 은총의 숲 생태선교는 북한의 산림녹화에 기여하고 통일 선교를 추진하는 것이다. 몽골 은총의 숲 생태선교와 이것이 함의를 주는 북한 산림녹화 선교는 지구적 기후 재앙 위기를 초래하는 시대를 대응하는 새로운 선교 패러다임이다.
