Standard rural house designs provided from 1976 were based on rationality, efficiency and functional and caused traditionality and identity crisis of rural village. The goal of 2009 standard rural house design was respect of local character and originality and development traditional rural landscape. The purpose of this Study is to analyse the characteristics and change of 2009 standard rural house design and provide basic materials for applicability and popularizing. The design characteristics of 2009 standard plan can be summarized as follows; 1. It opened the turning point of standard rural house based on plan shape and arrangement, 2. expanded variability by non-restrictive site and arrangement, 3. suggested an plan using slope site, 4. adopted the elements of the traditional architecture in plan, roof, outside space and material. 2009 standard plan suggest standard model of Korean rural landscape house through adoption of traditional elements and reinterpretation of traditional space composition. But uniform models restrict the variety of choice. In future standard rural house design have to accept rapidly changing dwelling culture and user participation to promote practicality and supply.

1976년부터 보급된 농어촌주택 표준설계도는 합리성, 효율성, 기능성을 우선으로 한 결과 농어촌 마을의 고유한 전통성의 상실과 정체성의 혼란을 가져왔다. 2009 농어촌주택 표준설계도는 지역의 고유한 특성과 개성을 살리고 전통적인 농어촌 경관의 형성을 목표로 보급되었다. 본 연구는 2009 농어촌 표준설계도가 가지는 특징과 변화들을 살펴봄으로써 앞으로 표준설계도가 농어촌주택에서의 적용성과 보급 확대 가능한 표준주택으로 완성될 수 있도록 기초 자료를 제공하는데 목적을 둔다. 2009년 표준설계도의 계획특성은 다음과 같다. 1. 평면의 형태 및 배치특성을 기준으로 새로운 농어촌표준주택의 전환기를 열었다. 2. 대지, 배치에 관해 제한하지 않음으로 가변성을 확대하였다. 3. 경사지형을 이용한 배치계획을 제시하였다. 4. 평면, 지붕, 외부공간, 재료 등에 있어 전통건축을 기초로 제작되었다. 2009년 표준설계도는 전통건축 요소의 도입과 전통적 공간구성의 재해석을 통한 한국형 농어촌 경관주택의 표준모델을 제시하였다는 점이다. 하지만 일률적인 모델을 적용한 점은 오히려 선택의 폭을 더 좁게 만든다. 앞으로 표준설계도는 급변하는 주거문화를 수용하고 사용자들의 참여를 통해 실용성과 보급을 높여야 할 것이다.
