Tourism event is not only an effective way to enhance the local characteristics and image, it is also a useful means to the marketing for regional promotion.
Therefore the objectives of this study is as follows; verifying the relations between tourism event and local image, presenting the problems and ways to improve for enhancement of image through tourism event by analysing the present conditions of the tourism event in 6 regions, located in east coast, which need to create the new image.
As a result, the tourism event established through the local image can attract more tourists to visit, increase more incomes from the tourists and activate local economy by bringing regional distinctive and active aspects into relief.
Consequently, a theme selection considered regional color and history, developing various experience programs and tourism packages, making local character and symbol, unity of CI and systematic promotion plan are presented to develop the east coast area and distinguish the regional image.
