The aim of this study was to propose strategies of tourism developments in Young-ju area (placed in the northen area of Kyong-sang-buk-do province).
First of all, the author investigated into the present conditions of cultural/tourism resources in Young-ju area and then tried to find out possibilities of tourism developments of Young-ju area to activate Youngju-area's economy.
In planing cultural/tourism developments, regional characters and social/cultural environments and economical conditions should be considered. In addition to this, the developments should not only be profitable both to regional economy and to regional citizens but minimize effects on the ecosystem.
Considering these above conditions, the present study tried to propose strategies tourism developments in Young-ju area to maximize characteristics of regional tradition and history.
