The purpose of this study was to verify gender differences in adolescent's somatization, somato-sensory amplification, and somatic attribution. The subjects were 1,590 1st and 2nd grade high school students in Seoul, Kyonggi and Busan. The subject was assessed with the Examination Paper of Korean Children's Somatization Inventory, Korean Versions of Somatosensory Amplification Scale and Symptom Interpretation Questionnaire. The results were as follows: Female students scored higher on total score of somatizaion, gastrointestinal symptoms and somato-sensory amplification. Female students scored higher on somatic attribution, pain and weakness, and visual symptoms but effect sizes were small. Total and sub scales of somatization had a significant correlations with somato-sensory amplification and somatic attribution. Somato-sensory amplification had a mediating effects on the gender differences in adolescent's somatization. Somato-sensory amplification had a mediating effects on gender differences in gastrointestinal symptoms. In short, this study confirmed the mediating effects of somato-sensory amplification on gender differences in somatization. The limitations of this study and suggestions for future studies were discussed.

본 연구에서는 청소년의 신체화, 신체감각 증폭지각, 신체적 귀인의 성차를 확인하고 신체화의 성차에 대한 신체감각 증폭지각의 매개효과를 규명하였다. 부산, 서울, 경기지역 고등학교의 1, 2학년 학생 1,590명(남자 730명, 여자 860명)을 대상으로 한국판 아동 신체화척도, 신체감각 증폭 척도, 증상 해석 질문지를 실시하였다. 그 결과 신체화 총점, 소화기 증상, 신체감각 증폭지각 점수가 여학생에서 높았으며 통증 및 허약 증상, 시각적 증상, 신체적 귀인 점수는 여학생에서 높았으나 효과 크기가 다소 작았다. 신체화 총점 및 하위 요인은 남학생과 여학생 모두에게서 신체감각 증폭지각 및 신체적 귀인과 유의미한 상관을 보였다. 신체감각 증폭지각이 신체화 총점의 성차에 미치는 영향력을 규명한 결과, 신체감각 증폭지각이 신체화 총점의 성차를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 신체감각 증폭지각이 신체화의 하위변인인 소화기 증상의 성차에 미치는 영향력을 규명한 결과, 신체감각 증폭지각이 소화기 증상의 성차를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 신체화, 신체감각 증폭지각, 신체적 귀인의 성차를 확인하고, 신체화의 성차에 대한 신체감각 증폭지각의 매개효과를 확인하였다.
