A new conception of "equivalent scattering area" is investigated as a new approaching method for developing the ideal model of optical dot gain, regarding all the main causes such as scattering, multiple internal reflection of light in paper substrates and dot shapes. It is experimentally shown that the conception of equivalent scattering area, B` os very useful for the analysis of optical dot gain, and it can be formulated asmulated as
