The purpose of this study is to find out the new image of the Hwarang, focused on Misheng who was the 10th leader of Hwarang. Bibliographical method was adopted to analyze the Hwarangsegi that is the book of Hwarang's family history translated by Lee Jong Wook. The result of this study is following. 1. Misheng who was the 10th leader of Hwarang was born of
the family was engaged in offering woman to king‘s family. 2. Misheng did not training of the horse riding, the art of sword. He could not rendered distinguished military service. But he acknowledged of Hwarang's service as a beautiful face that pencile his eyebrows and made up his face like woman and the dance. 3. Misheng was a father of one hundred boys. The Silla's common people was prepare for offering their beautiful daughter in order to get the good seed of the Hwarang or the royal family. It is open society for common people who try to reach higher level. 4. The Misheng's Yangjin was included the methode that restrained emission of semen in order to prolonging life. He made use of the secret prescription of Silla Monk that was the method of strengthening the penis using a nest of hornet near road.

이 연구의 목적은 풍월주 미생의 일생을 조명함으로써 화랑도의 새로운 실체를 분명히 하려는 것이다. 종래의 화랑도에 관한 연구가 고대 신라사회의 실체상을 외면하고 이념적으로 편향되어 있음을 타
파하고 새로운 화랑상을 제시하려는 것이다. 연구의 방법은 이종욱이 교주한 화랑세기를 분석하는 문헌연구법이다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.
1. 제10세 풍월주였던 미생은 신라왕실에 색을 바치는 색신가문에서 태어나 일찍부터 가무와 미도를 알아 풍류접의 역할을 다한 화랑이었다.
2. 일반 화랑과 달라 미생은 승마, 검술 훈련을 받지 않았으며 전투에 나가 전공을 세우기보다는 여성처럼 눈썹을 그리고 화장하는 신체미와 만덕에게 전수받은 무용으로 화랑도들을 위로하였다. 후배 화랑
들은 미생에게서 춤을 배웠다.
3. 미생은 아들이 100명이나 된다고 칭송을 받았다. 이것은 골품을 얻기 위한 고대 신라인들의 염원과도 관계가 있다.
4. 미생의 양진은 신라법사비밀방에 보이는 성기 강화법이나 중국의서에 보이는 보정의 이론을 적용하여 건강을 회복하는 양생법이 적용되었을 것이다.
