This research is the case study on the life of the elementary school students who experience the transcultural life in the childhood. From the viewpoint of the TCK (Third Culture Kid), we observed the life of the unaccredited school students in Vietnam and we categorized the result into following three cases:
1. The transcultural experience of the unaccredited school student in Vietnam become one's strengths. They can usually adapt theirselves to new circumstances. However, they sometimes become confused about their identity in their adolescence.
2. The unaccredited school student in Vietnam is usually hindered in their study because of their unstable educational environment. In most cases, their Korean ability is not enough for the learning at the class.
3. The unaccredited school student in Vietnam meet and say goodbye over and over again through their life. Sometimes they become confused about the different culture and they are sticken with a victim mentality.
In the future, we want to develop the various case studies to understand the TCKs well and help them to come up with an effective counterplan.

요즘 늘어가는 해외동포의 숫자와 더불어 재외 초등학생의 숫자도 급격히 늘어나고 있지만 적절한 한국의 교육과정을 경험할 수 있는 환경은 여전히 부족한 상황이다. 본 연구는 모국에 대한 정체성이 완성되지 않은 성장기에 문화 변동을 경험하는 임시 한국학교내 초등학생 아이들의 삶에 대한 사례 연구이며, 그들의 삶의 의미를 밝히는데 본 연구의 목적을 두고 있다. 본 연구를 통해 관찰된 사례들은 다음의 세 범주로 분류하였다. 첫째, 어린 나이에 맞이하는 타문화권의 성장 환경은 성인이 된 이후 남다른 강점이 될 수도 있지만, 사춘기 이후의 고향 및 고국에 대한 정체성 형성에 혼란을 유발할 수도 있다. 둘째, 현지 아이들은 교육 환경의 잦은 변화로 학업에 어려움을 겪는 경우가 많은데, 특히 학습언어로서의 한국어 능력이 부족하며, 현지학교와 한국학교간 교육과정 차이로 인한 학습결손 및 열악한 교육 환경때문에 학습 태도가 불안정하다. 그러나 다중언어 구사능력은 모국 아이들보다 상대적으로 뛰어나다. 셋째, 이들의 생활은 만남과 이별이 반복되고, 문화 간 갈등상황을 마주하거나 문화침투에 어려움을 경험하는 과정인데, 이로 인한 정서적인 어려움이 발생한다. 본 연구를 통해 베트남이라는 제 3세계 공산권 사회 속에서 거주하는 재외 초등학생의 삶과 사례조사를 통해 내면의 갈등양상을 파악하였으며, 향후 효과적인 교육을 돕는 적절한 대응방안이 적용되어야 할 것이다.
