The purpose of this investigation was to test the ability of the theory of planned behavior to predict elementary school children's current and future physical activity. Secondary goals were to provide important descriptive data(behavior attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control) on elementary school children's behavior intention and to examine for gender differences. The participants were 557 elementary school children(boys 270, girls 287) in the Jeonnam Province and Gwangju Metropolitan City. The participants are completed questionnaires assessing the planned behavior theory constructs as well as current and future physical activity scale. The analysis of data were executed descriptive statistics, MANOVA, pearson correlation, and multiple regression. The conclusions obtained from this study: 1. In the analysis of gender different on all measurement variables, there are significant different in emotional behavior attitude, current and future physical activity. 2. The finding revealed that three measurement variables(behavior attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavior control) predicted behavior intention. 3. The finding revealed that behavior intention and gender predicted current and future physical activity.
