The purpose of this study was to investigated whether gambling passion and gambling self efficacy would be related to emotional intelligence to control sports lottery a kind of gambling and whether gambling self efficacy would mediate the relationship between passion and emotional intelligence. The subjects of this study were a total of 258 participants and completed an gambling passion scale, a gambling refusal self efficacy scale and emotional intelligence scale. The methods of the statistical analysis used in this study was the structure equation modeling, analysis by using SPSS PASW 17.0 and AMOS 7.0. As the results of the analysis, the findings of this study were as follows. First, obsessive passion factors not influences gambling self efficacy. Second, harmonious passion factors influences gambling self efficacy. Third, obsessive passion factors not influences emotional intelligence. Forth, harmonious passion factors influences emotional intelligence. Finally, gambling self efficacy factors influences emotional intelligence. Gambling self efficacy partially mediated the relationship between gambling passion and emotional intelligence
