Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis on the Hysteretic Behavior of Slit Plate Damper with Cyclic Load

The purpose of this research is to propose the nonlinear finite element analysis model on the hysteretic behavior of slit plate damper with cyclic load using ABAQUS. The analysis results on the behavior of slit plate damper were closely compared with the existing experimental results. The analysis results were shown that hysteretic behavior of slit plate damper was acceptably
predicted by the proposed nonlinear finite element analysis model. The research parameters were the type of steel and thickness of dampers. The results of finite element analysis were evaluated the yielding strength, yielding displacement, maximum strength and initial stiffness through hysteretic curves.
