The purpose of this study is about the effect of adolescents' participation in e-sports games on sports involvement and the targets of researching set up the students from high schools which are in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, on July, 2007 and the targets were total 381 students from 10 special classes of 4 schools include male and female by using cluster random sampling.
The researching object of this study used questionnaire method through the questionnaire paper and that questionnaires were constructed by a background variable item which is asking demographic speciality of targets, a independent variable item which is asking participation in e-sports game and a dependent variable item which is asking participation in sports. The questionnaire finished by using SPSS ver 13.0 and I did T-test and one way ANONA to find out the relation between participating in e-sports game and participating in sports that depend on demographic speciality and did Correlation and Multiple Regression Analysis to find out the effect of participation in sports game by participating e-sports game, the result were shown as the following; First, according to demographic speciality, there was a considerable difference partly between participating in e-sports games and sports. Second, the relation of participating in e-sports games and sports was shown positive correlation totally. Third, the result of examining the suitability of regression line about the effect of participating in sports by period of participation, the number of times of participation, sustaining time which are sub variables of participating in e-sport. that was shown all that factors; definitive(F=17.269), cognitive(F=19.896), active(F=5.566) effect considerably by p<.001 level, the result of examining coefficient of determination of regression analysis was shown that is explaining 12.2%, 14.0%, 4.3% each of variables were used in statistics.
