It is recommended that financial education is practically performed by universities. Financial curriculum should be developed best suitable for university students as well as fitted with practical business areas. The objective of this paper is to investigate the current status of financial curriculums in the department of finance in four-year universities that offer financial education programs. Financial certificate can represent degree of practical business. We evaluate how much the university curriculum fit with practical business, developing a model for computing the fitness scores. We consider the curriculum of 11 Korean universities and 17 certificates issued in Korea. Finally we propose an optimal curriculum best applicable in business. The commonly offered subjects are introduction to economics, microeconomics, macroeconomics in economics, finance management, marketing, introduction to management in management, and financial markets and institutes, global finance, asset management, derivatives, insurance, financial laws, investments, real estate economy in finance. The overall fitness score is low, but the financial law subject got the highest score in the subjects.

최근 전 세계적으로 금융교육의 중요성이 높아지고 있으며 금융전문 인력을 양성을 위해서는 실무교육이 요구된다. 금융 인력육성을 위해서는 무엇보다 대학교육이 중요하지만 아직 국내 대학에서 금융학과가 개설된 곳은 미미한 수준이다. 대학이 중심이 된 금융교육은 무엇보다 대학의 교육과정이 실무중심으로 구성되어야 하며, 금융 자격증은 교과정이 실무 정도를 충족하는지 여부를 파악하는 유용한 척도로 활용될 수 있다. 본 연구는 국내 4년제 대학의 금융학과 교과 과정을 조사하고 실무 적합성 여부를 파악하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 국내 4년제 11개 대학 금융학과 교과 과정과 17개 금융관련 자격증을 조사하고 표준 교과 과정과 금융 자격증 시험과목과의 일치도 점수를 도출하였다. 대학이 개설한 공통 교과목을 중심으로 표준 교과 과정을 도출하고 실무에 적합한 금융 교과 과정을 제안한다. 각 대학이 공통적으로 많이 개설된 교과목은 경제학 분야에서는 ‘경제학원론’, ‘미시경제학’, ‘거시경제학’ 순이고, 경영학분야에서는 ‘재무관리’, ‘마케팅원론’, ‘경영학원론’, ‘회계원리’ 순이었다. 금융 분야는 ‘금융시장 및 금융기관론’, ‘국제금융’, ‘자산관리’, ‘파생상품론’, ‘보험론’, ‘금융법’, ‘투자론’, ‘부동산경제’ 순으로 나타났다. 실무적합도 평가 결과 25개 공통과목의 일치도 점수는 전반적으로 낮았고 ‘금융법’의 일치도 점수가 가장 높았다.
