The aim of this study was to examine 20`s voters` voting patterns of korea local election at 2. Jun 2010, in which social medalities of confliction were extremely evident. This study ascertained that the results of the 5th elections represented a blow to the ruling party of Korean President Lee Myung-bak. Fifty-four percent of Koreans voted this time. It represents a minimal increase from the last elections in 2006, where 51.6 percent of voters showed up. Perhaps predictably, the highest turn-out for local elections was for the first election ever in 1995, when 68.4 percent of the population rushed to the polls, still eager about democracy. Election results a rebuke to ruling party over several issues ? President Lee’s party not only failed to win a majority of mayoral seats but actually lost in total to their main rivals the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party won seven of 16 seats, while Lee’s Grand National’s won only six.

본 연구는 2010년 6월 2일 실시되었던 전국동시지방선거에서 20대 층의 투표율 상승원인에 영향을 미친 정치･사회적 이슈들을 분석하고자 했다. 선거의 당락을 결정짓게 된 이슈, 젊은 층의 의식변화 등을 검토하고 그 이유를 밝혀 보고자 했다. 먼저 2006년 지방선거, 2010년 지방선거의 결과를 비교 분석하여 그 당시 투표결과에 영향을 준 사회적 이슈 등을 알아보고자 한다. 선거의 결과분석은 중앙선거관리위원회「투표율 결과 분석」자료를 참고하였고, 실증분석을 위해 대학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문지 분석은 SPSS프로그램을 활용하였다. 이를 통해 20대 투표율 상승에 영향을 미친 5가지 요인들을 확인하였다.
