Researchers analyzed the differences of children's self-determination according to the family system types. The subjects were as follows. (1) Is there any difference in children's self-determination between divorced families and non-divorced families? (2) Is there any difference in children's self-determination according to family system types? The targeted students were 400 children from the local schools nation wide (They lived in Seoul, Gyeongi, Jeon-Buk and Gyeong-Nam). The research results were as follows. (1) There is a significant difference in children's self-determination between divorced families and non-divorced families. (2) Also, it was found that the family system types affected children's self-determination. Statistically, the children's self-determination proved to be high in self-determination when they belonged to the balanced family. This survey study clearly proved that the children's self-determination is influenced substantially by interactive relationship in the family.

본 연구의 목적은 가족체제유형에 따라 학생들의 자기결정성이 달라지는지를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 우선 부모의 이혼 여부에 따른 학생들의 자기결정성의 차이를 분석하였고, 다음으로 가족체제 유형에 따른 학생들의 자기결정성의 차이를 살펴보았다. 초등학생 및 중학생 400명을 연구대상으로 선정하였고, 설문조사를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 연구문제의 분석을 위해 t검증 및 일원분산분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 부모의 이혼여부에 따라 학생들의 자기결정성에 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 즉, 이혼을 한 가정의 아이들은 그렇지 않은 경우에 비해 자기결정성이 유의하게 낮게 나타났다. 둘째, 가족체제유형에 따라 학생들의 자기결정성이 유의하게 차이를 보였다. 바람직한 유형으로 여겨지는 균형가족형 학생들의 자기결정성이 높게 나타났고, 극단가족형의 경우 자기결정성이 가장 낮았다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 학생들의 자기결정성 향상을 위해 가정교육 및 부모교육에의 시사점을 논의하였다.
