This study examined campus life satisfaction of students who attend a college or university located in Seoul Metropolitan Area (SMA) and non-Seoul Metropolitan Area (NSMA) by using a national sample from the Korea Education and Employment Panel data (KEEP). The data was analyzed by means of SPSS 17.0 and LISREL 8.53. Multiple group analysis (a comparison between a model in which specific parameters are constrained to equality and one in which one of these parameters is freely estimated) was used to assess the differences on campus life satisfaction related to college facilities, campus life, and carrier worry between two groups. The insignificant difference in χ2 between the two models indicated that no between-group differences exist between the equated parameters. The analysis disclosed how a statistically significant difference between groups on college facilities affects campus life satisfaction. This result suggested that college facilities appear to influence campus life satisfaction of students in SMA more than campus life satisfaction of students in NSMA.

본 연구는 한국직업능력개발원에서 실시하고 있는 한국교육고용패널 4차 데이터를 SPSS 17.0과 LISREL 8.53을 사용하여 수도권 대학과 비수도권 대학을 중심으로 대학생활만족도에 관한 집단 간 비교연구를 실시하였다. 다집단 구조방정식 모형(Multiple Group Structural Equation Model, MSEM)을 사용하여 분석한 결과, 첫째, 대학시설과 학교생활이 대학생활만족도에 정(+)의 영향을 주었으며, 진로고민은 대학생활만족도에 부(-)의 영향을 줌을 보여주었다. 둘째, 학교생활과 진로고민은 수도권과 비수도권 대학생활만족도에서 별다른 차이를 보이지 않았지만, 대학시설변인은 유의미한 통계적 차이를 보였다. 이는 대학생활만족에 영향을 끼치는 대학시설의 경로계수가 수도권지역과 비수도권지역에서 통계적으로 유의미하게 다르며 이는 수도권지역의 대학시설만족도가 대학생활만족도에 미치는 영향이 비수도권지역보다 높음을 의미한다.
