The purpose of this study on children of region children center is to identify how Group Art Therapy affect children's self-esteem. The research was carried out in the order of subject selection, pre-test, implementation of the integrative art therapy program, post-test, and processing of results during the period of January 12, 2009 to May 31, 2009. The subjects for this research was chosen from region children center in City I. A total number of 12 students were selected, who were divided into two groups - 6 students in the experiment group and 6 students in the control group. The group art therapy program was implemented on the experiment group for a total of 16 sessions, 50 minutes twice a week, while the control group did not receive this treatment. The self-esteem measure, K-HTP(Kinetic House-Tree-Person), and KSD(Kinetic School Drawing) were used as research tools, and the results of pre-test and post-test were analyzed. The findings of this research reveal that the score of the experiment group increased more significantly than that of the control group in terms of self-esteem, and the sub-elements of self-esteem Overall and Social. This paper concludes that group art therapy has a positive influence on the self-esteem of children in the Region Children Center.

본 연구의 목적은 지역아동센터 아동을 대상으로 집단미술치료 프로그램을 진행하여 자아존중감에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 한 것이다. 연구의 진행은 2009년 1월12부터 5월 31일에 걸쳐 대상자 선정, 사전검사, 집단미술치료 프로그램 실시, 사후검사, 결과 처리 순으로 이루어졌다. 연구 대상선정은 I시에 위치한 지역아동센터를 이용하는 아동 12명을 각각 6명씩 실험집단과 통제집단으로 선정하였다. 실험집단은 주2회 50분씩 총 16회기의 집단미술치료 프로그램을 실시하였고, 나머지 통제집단은 아무런 처치를 하지 않았다. 연구도구로는 자아존중감 검사, K-HTP(동적 집-나무-사람그림), KSD(동적학교생활화)를 실시하여 사전, 사후검사의 변화를 분석하였다. 연구결과 실험집단이 통제집단보다 자아존중감 점수와 자아존중감 하위요인인 총체적, 사회적 점수가 유의미하게 향상되었다. 따라서 집단미술치료가 지역아동센터 아동의 자아존중감 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
