Anti-Cell Adhesion Capacity of Siegesbeckiae Herba and Corni Fructus for Anti-Obesity Purpose

Cell adhesion is essential for tissue and organ formation, and alive of cell. Cell adhesion is also stimulated by VEGF. Cell adhesion is important factor for cancer and obesity. These two kinds of natural products of Siegesbeckiae Herba and Corni Fructus showed novel anti-cell adhesion. In the anti-cell adhesion experiment, U937 cells to IL-1β-chemical stimulated HUVECs were completely suppressed by 28%, 61%, 70% and 158% at different concentration of S. herba and C. fructus inhibited U937 cell adhesion to 12%, 57%, 115% and 132%, respectively. Also, U937 cell adhesion was inhibited by 372%, 613%, 633% and 720% at different concentration of S. herba and was inhibited by 379%, 504%, 567% and 664% at different concentration of C. fructus when interacting with PMA-chemical stimulated U937 cells to HUVECs. Finally, U937 cell adhesion was inhibited by 93%, 95%, 375% and 436% at different concentration of S. herba and was inhibited by 50%, 112%, 231% and 297% when interacting with chemical stimulated U937 to IL-1B-chemical stimulated HUVECs. These results suggest that S. herba and C. fructus extracts could be anti-angiogenesis substances for anti-obesity.
