Japanese flounder is distributed in western pacific: Japan, Sakhalin, Kuril Islands, Korean Peninsula to the South China Sea, and is one of the most popular fish in Korea. In order to increase the consumption of this fish, various processed foods and cosmetics need to be developed.
In this study, amino acid contents of hot-water extracts of Japanese flounder Paralichthys olivaceus were analyzed for cosmetic application.
Several cosmetic formulations have been prepared to measure moisturizing and soothing effects on skin. The moisturizing effect increased with the extracts concentration. Some advantages on the skin effect of the extracts were discussed also.
