The purpose of this study to create appropriate future alternatives by understanding an actual condition of the ethical dilemmas for school social workers and its recognition. To accomplish this, a survey was conducted questionnaire survey for 20 school social workers in the Seoul and Gyeonggi region and additionally focus group for 6 school social workers.
The study results revealed that the level of actual experience of the ethical dilemma and its recognition were different and although school social workers are doing their best to resolve the ethical dilemmas but are experiencing many difficulties, which shows a need for a realistic alternatives. Therefore, based on the results of this study, we suggested a few implications as following. First, the ethics education and training to reinforce the ethical aspect of school social work as well as education and training structures for its are needed. Second, an ethical standards to respond appropriately to the ethical dilemmas in the practice process for a stable settlement of school social workers in comparison to other profession are needed. therefore we suggest school social workers have to use the existing code of ethics for social worker properly but also have to make the code of ethics for school social worker to resolve their ethical dilemmas.

본 연구는 학교사회복지사들이 경험하는 윤리적 갈등의 실태와 이에 대한 인식을 파악하여 차후 적절한 대안을 마련하는데 목적이 있다. 이에 서울, 경기지역 학교사회복지사 20명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고 추가적으로 6명의 학교사회복지사를 대상으로 초점집단면접을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 학교사회복지 현장에서 학교사회복지사들이 실제 경험하는 윤리적 갈등실태와 윤리적 갈등에 대한 문제인식 수준이 서로 다른 것으로 나타났으며 또한 학교사회복지사들이 윤리적 갈등문제를 해결하는데 있어 나름대로 최선을 다하고 있지만 많은 어려움을 경험하고 있고 이를 해결하는데 도움이 되는 실질적 대안을 필요로 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구결과에 기초하여 학교사회복지사들의 윤리적 갈등을 해결하는 데 도움이 될 수 있는 다음과 같은 몇 가지 제언을 제시하였다. 첫째, 학교사회복지 실천의 윤리적 측면을 강화하기 위한 윤리교육 및 훈련을 강화해야하며 이를 위해 쳬계적인 교육 및 훈련체계가 마련되어야 할 것이다. 둘째, 학교사회복지사가 다른 전문직과 비교하여 학교현장에서 안정적으로 자리잡기 위해서는 실천과정에서 직면하게 되는 윤리적 갈등에 대해 적절히 대처할 수 있는 윤리적 기준을 가지고 있는 것이 필요하다. 이를 위해 기존 사회복지사윤리강령을 충분히 활용할 수 있는 방안을 모색함은 물론 학교사회복지사에게 필요한 구체적인 학교사회복지사윤리강령 마련도 이제는 생각해 보아야할 것이다.
