Police cadets' education and training is the most important, because it makes police cadets who meet citizens at the front line form his of her own sense of values and awareness of professional ethics. And they occupy over 93% of police education trainee. In the modern society, as people's level of consciousness increased expectancies of police role raised too. So, the academic and experimental study of police cadets' education and training is much valuable. This study was intended to explore factors that construct the quality of police cadets' education and training programs, and to uncover the influence of those factors on satisfaction with the education program. It characterized predictable factors that might influence the satisfaction, as ① demographic variables(sex, age, education), ② study variables(self-efficiency, motivation, ability), ③ educational structure variables(duration, facilities, trainee status), ④ educational process variables(contents, traits of faculties). Then it analyzed the influence of these factors on satisfaction. As a result, all the educational process variables(contents β=.528, p<.001, traits of faculties β=.056, p<.05), facilities(β=.249, p<.001) and trainee status(β=.089, p<.001) in educational structure variables, motivation(β=.075, p<.05) in study variables were found to influence on satisfaction.

신임순경 교육훈련은 전체 신임경찰 교육의 93% 이상을 담당한다는 점에서 매우 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 특히, 급변하는 현대사회는 국민의 의식수준 향상에 따른 경찰에 대한 기대치도 상승한다는 점에서 신임순경 교육훈련에 대한 실증적인 연구는 학문적ㆍ정책적으로 가치있는 일이다. 이 연구는 신임순경 교육훈련에 대한 교육생들의 만족도를 조사하고, 교육만족도에 미치는 영향요인을 개인적 특성과 교육훈련 특성으로 구분하여 검토하였다. 연구결과 개인적 특성 가운데 학습동기요인(β=.075, p<.05)이 교육만족도에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 교육훈련 특성으로 교육환경 요인(β=.249, p<.001), 교육생지위 요인(β=.089, p<.001), 교육내용 요인(β=.528, p<.001), 교수요원 자질 요인(β=.056, p<.05)이 교육만족도에 통계적으로 유의미한 수준에서 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 이 연구에서는 첫째, 다양한 교수법의 개발과 교육커리큘럼에 대한 분석 및 피드백, 둘째, 교육환경 개선을 위한 노력의 실시, 셋째, 현장실습 간에 교육생 지위의 재정립, 넷째, 우수한 교수요원의 충원, 끝으로 교육생에 대한 지속적인 동기부여 등을 통하여 교육만족도 제고를 제안한다.
