GimPotongjindurenolee which is formed on the basis of community life, raises the local spirit of awareness. It has become a play which expresses the sorrow of labor to joyfulness. Therefore, even in the play format, we can find traces of the agricultural movement within the labor dance. The characters Sori and Jang Dan still exist as characters of communal living in unity. To protect and keep the intangible cultural heritage, most of the cities and providences in Korea try to allow for the next generation to succeed traditional culture. Therefore, the designated culture holder teaches his/her talents and skills for others to carry on, but the funds are not enough to support the transmission of cultural heritages. This is, in fact, a most difficult situation.　 However, even though Tongjin Dure plays in such a harsh environment, the area is now proud of it as it brings cultural tourism and cultural resources of the region in the industrial era. Folk art was recognized as a worthy cultural resource at the time. Therefore, Tongjin Dure’s mix of plays and sceneries is in the progressive form of performances in the play and is centered on the functional aspect of art that needs to be more complementary.

김포통진두레놀이는 농경 사회에서 공동체 생활을 기초로 형성된 두레의식을 통해서 향토성을 고취시켰으며, 대자연과 사람이 일치되는 상태 속에서 노동의 애환을 환희로 표현하는 놀이다. 그렇기 때문에 놀이형식 속에서도 집단적 노동춤과 농경모의적 춤사위 및 소리와 장단, 공동체적 단합성의 특징이 살아있다. 무형문화재 보호․육성에 있어서 대부분 시․도가 전통문화의 계승발전을 위하여 시․도 지정 문화재의 보유자로 하여금 예능의 전수교육을 실시하고 있으나 예산 지원이 턱없이 적은 것이 현실이다. 결국 이 같은 전승지원 정책으로는 전수교육이 어려움이 많은 것이 사실이다 비록 무형문화재 보호․육성사업은 이와 같이 열악한 환경이지만, 통진두레놀이가 지니는 지역의 자긍심 제고문제와 그것을 지켜나갈 때 야기될 문화관광 자원 확충이라는 문화산업육성적 측면에서, 그 지역의 민속예술인 통진두레놀이에 대한 가치를 우리는 인정해야만 하는 시점에 와 있다. 나아가 통진두레놀이는 놀이와 풍물이 함께 어우러져 진행되는 공연형식으로 기능적․예능적인 측면을 좀 더 보완하여 발전시킬 필요가 있다. 그 이유는 통진두레놀이 구성원의 전문화를 통해서 가능하다는 이유와 현재의 무형문화재 보존적 차원과 전승발전이 곧 김포지역의 민속놀이의 브랜드화 사업으로 거듭날 수 있기 때문이다.
