The purpose of this study is to explore Janusz Korczak's literatures including his educational belief and to discuss about elementary teacher's role basic to the documents.
As a result, first, Janusz Korczak is a 'practical intellectual'. Second, he thinks the education as 'waiting with gentle manner', and he emphasised on the importance of the 'onceness' of education. So he refuted that educators must do their best for each childen's own nature and their own conditions. Third, he recognized educators as a man who knows and observes children and practice the 'onceness' of education.

본 연구는 야누쉬 코르착의 교육 신념을 담은 문헌들을 고찰하고, 이를 기초로 초등교사의 역할을 논의하는데 목적을 두었다.
연구 결과, 첫째, 코르착은 아는 것을 ‘실천하는 지식인’이었다. 둘째, 그가 생각하는 교육은 온화함 속에서의 기다림이었으며, 교육의 '일회성'을 강조하여 아동 한 사람, 한 사람의 특성과 그만의 구체적인 상황에 대해 최선을 다해야 함을 강조했다. 셋째, 그가 보는 교사는 아동을 존중하고 관찰하여 교육의 일회성을 실천하는 역할을 한다.
