This research focused on the ubiquitous service demands which it is able to apply to the housing estates. It is investigated the space-by-space demanding of the occupant living in the housing estates in which U-services are applied and analyzed. In first we are reviewed some of references on the ubiquitous technologies, U-service scenarios and actual ubiquitous technologies which were applied in the housing estates. From these background, a survey on the occupants' ubiquitous service demands was implemented in several housing estates.According to the characteristic of the space, the question research result and residential zone occupants could know to require the ranges of U-services variously; The residents' U-service demands mainly focused concerning to the safety and security of family in housing estates. In the unit residing, mostly the automatic cooling-and-heating, occupant verifying information, and etc. require U-services for the offset service putting first. In the building and housing complex, also, the demanding about the safety and prevention of crime could know the highness mainly with the fire prevention, emergency management, and etc.

본 연구는 주거단지에 적용 가능한 U-서비스에 관한 조사연구로서, 기초적인 U-서비스가 적용된 주거단지에 거주하고 있는 거주자의 공간단위별 U-서비스 요구도를 조사분석하였다. 이를 위하여 선행연구 및 기 적용된 U-서비스 사례를 검토하여 설문항목을 추출하였으며, 주거단지의 공간단위를 주거단지, 단위주동, 단위주거로 분류하여 설문문항으로 제시하였다. 설문조사 결과, 주거단지 거주자들은 대상 공간의 특성에 따라 U-서비스의 범위를 다양하게 요구하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 단위주거에서는 자동 냉난방, 거주자정보확인 등 대체로 편의서비스 위주로 U-서비스를 요구하고 있는데 비하여, 주동 및 단지레벨에서는 화재방지, 응급상황대처 등 주로 방범 및 안전 등에 대한 요구도가 높음을 알 수 있었다. 특히 이러한 거주자의 U-서비스를 전문가 조사결과와 비교분석하면, 전문가의 현재의 기술수준이나 실현가능성을 기초로 한 U-서비스 시나리오 설정과는 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다.
