This study is to analyses the trade patterns of the international specialization in the Korea's service industry sector. Especially, this research concentrates on the non-linear model based on the hypothesis of the complementarity between intra industry and inter industry trade patterns.
The close relationship between intra industry and inter industry specialization shows the relative weights of each pattern must be controled according to trade specialization status.
As a result of empirical analysis, most of estimation coefficient signs of analysis coincides with expected signs. This result validates essential hypothesis of this study that factor intensity will affect the intra industry trade in non-linear pattern.
Also, in the view point of open economics, analysis about function of welfare aspect for intra industry trade should be reviewed and more facilitated in future study.

본 연구는 ‘산업간 무역과 산업내 무역의 보완적 관점’ 모형에 따라 산업간 특화와 산업내 특화의 연계성을 이론적으로 재해석하고 요소집약도와 산업내 무역의 관계에 대한 비선형(역U자형) 모형을 이용, 서비스산업 산업내 무역패턴의 산업특성별 결정요인을 실증적으로 분석한 연구이다.
양 특화 간 연계성 분석에 따르면, 동태적으로 볼 때 현재 비교열위에 있는 산업일 경우 산업간 무역 비중보다는 제품의 다양화와 품질의 고급화를 통해 산업내 무역 비중을 증가시켜 수입특화 상태의 개선을 도모할 필요성이 있으며 현재 비교우위에 있는 산업의 경우에는 반대로 산업내 무역 비중보다는 이질적 제품 혹은 산업간의 상호 무역을 통한 산업간 무역 비중을 증가시켜야 수출특화를 강화할 수 있다는 점을 시사한다. 또한 실증 분석 결과, 요소집약도가 아주 작거나 아주 클수록 교역 상대국과의 비용 격차가 커서 산업내 무역의 상대적 비중이 작아지는 반면, 요소집약도가 중간적인 산업일수록 산업내 무역의 상대적 비중이 크게 나타날 것이라는 비선형성 가설이 지지되고 있었다.
본 연구는 기존의 문헌 연구들에서 활발하게 제시되어 온 무역조정비용과 자원재분배비용 제고로 인한 산업내 무역의 긍정적 역할에 대해 이론적 재 고찰과 보다 심도 있는 실증적 논의가 좀 더 보완되어야 함을 시사한다.
