The aims of this study were to evaluate the anti-obesity of MYC extracts in male Zucker fa/- rats fed high rat diets for 8 week. Experimental groups were divided into 5 groups; a normal diet group(ND), a high fat diet group(HFD), a high fat diet and MYC extracts 1% group(HFD+MYC 1%), a high fat diet and MYC extracts 3% group(HFD+MYC 3%) and a high fat diet and MYC extracts 5% group(HFD+MYC 5%). The body weight gain, liver and epididymal adipose tissue weights of HFD group were heavier than those of ND group, whereas those of groups administered MYC extracts were gradually decreased. The concentration of serum triglyceride and total cholesterol were significantly decreased in high fat diet and MYC extracts groups compared to HFD group. Levels of total cholesterol, lipid and bile acid in liver were significantly lower in MYC extracts administration groups than those in HFD group. Levels of total cholesterol, lipid and bile acid in feces were significantly higher in MYC extracts administration groups than those in HFD group. These results suggest that oral feeding of the MYC extracts may have anti-obesity effect by suppressing body weight gain, liver, epididymal adipose tissue weights and lipid metabolism of serum.

본 연구는 MYC 추출물의 체중, 혈청 지질 농도 변화, 지질대사 개선 및 항비만에 미치는 효과를 살펴보기 위하여 5주령의 수컷 비만 Zucker fa/- 쥐 50마리를 정상식이군(ND), 고지방식이군(HFD), 고지방 식이와 MYC 추출물 급여군(HFD+MYC) 1%, 3%, 5%군으로 나누어 8주간 실시하였다. 정상식이군과 비교하여 고지방식이군은 체중이 증가하였고, MYC 추출물을 첨가한 시험물질 급여군은 농도 의존적으로 체중 증가가 억제되었다. 체중 당 간, 부고환지방 조직의 무게는 MYC 추출물의 첨가로 농도 의존적으로 유의하게 감소하였고, 혈청 중 콜레스테롤과 중성지방 함량도 고지방식이군에 비교하여 농도 의존적으로 유의하게 억제되는 경향을 보였다. 간 중의 지질함량 변화에서는 총 지질, 총 콜레스테롤 및 담즙산이 정상식이군에 대비하여 고지방식이군에서 유의한 증가를 나타났고 시험물질급여군(HFD+MYC)에서는 유의한 억제효과가 나타났다. 변 중의 지질함량 변화에서는 시험물질급여군(HFD+MYC)이 유의한 증가를 나타내어 간과 혈액 내에서의 지질과 콜레스테롤의 축적이 억제되는 효과를 나타내었다. 이러한 결과는 MYC 추출물에 함유된 식이섬유와 지질저하작용이 보고되는 플라보노이드 계열의 화합물이 지방조직의 체지방형성을 억제함으로써 항비만 효과 및 체내지질대사개선 등의 효과를 나타낸 것으로 사료된다.
