As 21st century started, the rapid growth of mess-media is enabled that dance can carry out many types of imaging operation. Furthermore, the growth of ubiquitous and broad band started computer communication era of easily connecting everyone. Thus, interests have risen on interaction of computer and dance performance that is the most typical communication way of expressing human emotions. Many researchers have studied emotion recognition from dance performance images using motion analysis, and tried to establish the relationship between the dance performer and the viewer. In this paper, we review the present home and abroad studies between dance and image to highlight vistas of the future.

21세기에 접어들어 영상매체의 비약적인 발전으로 무용예술에서 다양한 형태의 영상작업이 수행되어 왔다. 또한, 최근 유비쿼터스와 브로드 밴드의 발달로 누구나 쉽게 연결할 수 있는 컴퓨터 커뮤니케이션 시대 가 도래하면서, 의사 전달과 감정 표현에 유용한 수단인 춤과 컴퓨터의 상호작용에 관한 연구에 관심이 높아지고 있다. 현재는 춤 영상에 대한 움직임 분석을 통하여 춤에서 표현된 감정을 인식함으로써 커뮤니케이션을 이루고자 하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 춤과 영상에 대한 국내․외 연구의 현재를 살펴보고 나아가서 미래의 전망을 알아본다.
