In order to establish inherent values of Korean Court Dance(Jeongjae) and make dear its cultural and original standings, it is foremost to make efforts to determine the correct identity of Korean Gourt Dance(Jeongjae). Those efforts are to find out the identity and subjectivity of Korean national culture, which is our cultural and national competitive edge as differentiated from other countries. In view of the ideological identity of Korean Court Dance(Jeongjae) as a traditional culture, it is found that national ideology and governance were expressed in structural characteristics and form; of dance. That is, it refers to political idea as ideology inherent in Jeongjae. From educational standpoint, the identity of Jeongjae encompasses overall practices of unchangeable Ye(禮) even from generation to generation in every aspect of form, content and implied ideology. So ultimately, it is a great educational heritage form. By looking into each royal party, this study also addressed the identity of Korean Court Dance (Jeongjae) from cultural and artistic perspectives. From musical viewpoints, the music of Korean Court Dance(Jeongjae) is characterized by melodies of court music which are played in leisurely velocity and flow with footloose but mysterious colors. The characteristics of such melodious music define form and relish of Jeongjae. Condusively, it is found that our confidence in verifying the identity of Korean Court Dance (Jeongjae) can lead to creating its values, and also means; unlimited growth potential of Korean traditional culture and art.

궁중정재가 가지고 있는 고유한 가치를 정립하고 문화적이고 독창적인 위상을 밝히기 위해서 가장 먼저 해야 할 일은 궁중정재의 정체성을 명확히 하는 작업이다. 예악(禮뿔)의 사상적 성향과 궁중정재의 유교적 성향， 교육과의 상호관계 및 효능， 문화 예술적으로 사상 근간의 축은 무엇이며， 그로 인해 파생된 전통역사의 색채와 미래적 방향성의 제시가 무엇인지를 다각적으로 살펴보았다. 이러한 작업을 통해서 우리나라가 문화적 • 국가적 경쟁력으로서 다른 나라와 구별되는 우리 민족 문화의 정체성과 주체성을 확인하고자 하는 것이며，전통문화로서 궁 중정재의 사상적 관점의 정체성， 교육적 관점에서의 정체성， 문화 예술적 관점에서의 정체성을 탐구함으로써 사회상에 존재하는 모든 문화적 형태나， 사조 등의 정체성을 포괄적으로 조망할 수도 있는 것이다. 궁중정재의 정체성에 대한 검증에 따른 확신을 갖는 것이 곧 궁중정재에 대한 가치 창출이라고 볼 수 있으며， 이는 곧 우리 민족의 전통문화， 전통예술의 무한한 발전 가능성일 것이다.
