초록
영어
This article analyzes Brazil's social alternative movement, especially MTST (Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Teto), which was born in 1997 as a part of MST(Movemento Sem Terra). MST, the most leading Brazilian social movements, was formed in 1984 to struggle against the government and against neo-liberalism, formed MTST as a response to the weakness of the leftest political parties and workers' unions. MTST, representing the marginalized Brazilian urban workers, struggles for their better life through militant associativism with other pro-dwelling movements, social networks and NGOs, as well as adapting MST's "politics of autonomy" and "socio-territorial movement" because of its origin. In the 21st century, MTST with the similar sem-teto movements, becomes the most representative social movements among Brazil's urban social movements.
