Jang, Ja Yeon’s suicide has bursted a deep-seated problem of entertainment business between broadcasting stations, independent productions, and entertainment management agencies which are the main group of TV series making. Generally, media has been considering rumors related to celebrities as their personal problems. This research will have the traditional market analysis model ‘Structure-conduct-performance’ on the assumption. The star system structure affects the three TV series makers. In this process, it causes the reverse function, so this research study the problems caused by the star system which is made by the three TV series makers. As a result of this research, the fundamental problem is unfair structure of whole entertainment business. This has caused by the mixture of a one-man business and an enterprise management system, and it has resulted casting system which is depended on network and connection. In the process of this structure’s fixation, management agencies’ capitalization and empowerment have come together, and it also made some stars’ empowerment. This structuralization deepens unfair system for rookies, and they became victim of the three TV series makers system. Moreover, it caused the raise the cost of making TV series and lead to crisis of whole TV series industry. This research suggested market style star development and open casting system by audition to solve this problem in advanced direction. At the last, the government should establish a standard agreement for rookies’ right and empower them to protect their own rights.

스타를 매개로 한 드라마 제작 3주체－방송사, 외주제작사, 매니지먼트 기획사－들 사이에서 그동안 벌어졌던 연예 산업의 고질적 문제가 고 장자연씨 죽음을 계기로 세상 밖으로 드러났다. 일부 언론들은 스타와 관련된 추문이 나올 때마다 스타 개인의 문제로 치부해 왔다. 본 연구는 전통적인 시장 분석 모델인 ‘구조-행위-성과’ 모델을 전제로 스타시스템의 구조는 드라마 제작 3주체들의 드라마 제작과정의 합리적 행위에 영향을 미치고 그 결과로서 드라마 제작 성과에 영향을 미치게 되는데, 그 과정에서 스타 시스템의 역기능이 야기된다고 보고, 이들 3주체에 의해 조직된 스타 시스템의 구조가 발생시키는 문제점을 고찰하였다. 연구결과 국내 스타 시스템의 구조적 문제는 국내 연기자 매니지먼트 산업의 발전과정에서의 영세성 매니지먼트로부터 시작함으로써 야기된 개인형 매니지먼트와 기업형 매니지먼트의 혼재, 그로 인한 인맥 중심의 연줄 캐스팅 스타 시스템 구조와 이 과정에서 맺어지는 불평등 구조가 스타를 매개로 하여 발생하는 추문과 드라마 제작산업의 발전을 저해하는 근본적 문제임을 밝혀냈다. 이들 구조의 고착화 과정에서 매니지먼트 기획사의 거대 자본화와 권력화가 동시에 진행되면서 일부 스타의 권력화 또한 함께 이루어졌다. 이러한 구조화 과정에서 무명 신인 연기자들은 상대적으로 불평등 구조가 심화되었고, 3주체의 매개물로서 약한 고리가 되어 피해자가 되었다. 뿐만 아니라 이런 구조는 드라마 제작비용의 급상승 요인으로 작용하여 드라마 제작산업의 위기를 초래했다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 발전적 방안으로 시장형 스타 개발과 오디션을 통한 열린 캐스팅 체계의 도입, 일본이나 미국과 같은 연기자들의 출연료 적정화 방안 도입을 제안했다. 마지막으로 불평등 구조에 놓인 신인 연기자들의 권익을 위해 계약을 위한 표준약관을 정부가 마련하고, 미국의 스타 시스템과 마찬가지로 직능별 연예인 협회로 하여금 회원들의 권익을 보호할 수 있도록 협상과 집단행위를 위한 권한을 부여할 것을 제안한다.
