This article is made for investigating the characteristics and value of Banggakbon which had been published in Anseong from the late 19th century to 1920s. As a result of the investigation of the status of Anseongpan and the comparison of Anseongpan with Gyeongpan, New findings are come out as follows.
Park Seong Chil took over and published only 3 kinds of wood block among 7 kinds of classical Banggakbon novel published in Dongmun-ri in the late 19th century while he was running Bukchonseopo and Park Seong Chil Seojeom in 1910s. In addition, it seemed that he had not operated Dongmun-ro Banggakso as he formed new blocks not utilizing such works which had been ever published in Dongmun-ri.
Besides, Anseongpan Banggak novel was belonged to an area of Gyeongpan Banggak novel, but situation gave it opportunities to rather have an influence on Gyeongpan Banggak novel. In addition, Practical books and learning materials for children published in Anseong in 1920s were distributed not only in Seoul but the wide range of hinterland centering around Anseong. As such, Anseongpan Banggakbon entered into a relation with Gyeongpan Banggakbon and sometimes became the subject of production and consumption as necessary. It may be recognized that Anseongpan Banggakbon gave substantial contribution to the local society and culture of the age as it diffused various knowledge to the area centering around Anseong.

본고는 19세기 후반에서 1920년대까지 안성에서 간행한 방각본의 특성과 가치를 규명하기 위하여 작성하였다. 이를 위하여 안성판의 현황을 검토한 다음 안성판과 경판을 비교한 결과 새롭게 밝혀진 것은 다음과 같다.
박성칠은 1910년대에 북촌서포와 박성칠서점을 경영하면서 19세기 말에 동문리에서 간행한 방각본 고전소설 7종 가운데 3종의 판목만 인수, 간행하였다. 그리고 동문리에서 간행한 적이 있는 작품인데도 이를 활용하지 않고 새로운 판목을 조성한 것을 볼 때, 박성칠이 동문리 방각소를 운영하지는 않았던 것으로 보인다.
한편 안성판 방각소설은 경판 방각소설의 자장(磁場) 안에 있었지만 경우에 따라 경판 방각소설에 영향을 주기도 하였다. 그리고 1920년대에 안성에서 간행된 실용서적과 아동용 학습서는 서울에서도 유통이 되었지만, 안성을 중심으로 하는 상당히 넓은 배후지에 유통되었다.
이처럼 안성판 방각본은 경판 방각본과 관계를 맺으면서 때로는 자체적인 필요에 의해 생산, 소비되었다. 그리고 안성판 방각본이 안성을 중심으로 한 지역에 다양한 지식을 전파하였다는 점에서 당대의 지역 사회, 문화에 적지 않은 기여를 하였다고 하겠다.
