The Relationship between Young Children's Emotional Intelligence and Their self-efficacy

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between young children's emotional intelligence and their self-efficacy. 156 children's data was used and collected by questionnaires method from teachers. The instruments were children's emotional intelligence, and their self-efficacy. The results of the study were as follows : (1) Children's emotional intelligence differed according to their sex and sibling status. Girls have more higher emotional intelligence than boys. Children's who have brothers and sisters have more higher emotional intelligence than those who don't have. Children's self-efficacy didn't differed according to sex, but differed according to sibling status. So we can see children's sibling status is important factor for their development. (2) Children's emotional intelligence have relation to their self-efficacy in many ways. Especially others regulation was more positively associated with self-efficacy than other variables. (3) Children's emotional intelligence also meaningfully influence to their self-efficacy.
