The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships of young children's temperament on their emotional intelligence. The data was collected by questionnaires method from 243 children. The instruments were children's temperament, and children's emotional intelligence. The results of the study were as follows : (1) Children's temperament differed according to children's sex, but not differed according to birth order. Children's emotional intelligence differed according to children's sex and birth order. (2) Children's emotional intelligence meaningfully related to temperament. And children's emotional intelligence were more negatively associated with activity and approach-withdrawal than other variables. (3) Children's temperament also meaningfully influence to emotional intelligence.
