Distribution of Alginate Degrading Bacteria in Korean Pickled Hairtail Guts

초록

영어

Alginate degrading bacteria were isolated from pickled hairtail guts from Mokpo, Korea. Small amount of liquefied substances was diluted with sterilized water and smeared on M9 alginate agar plate. Bacteria which have different morphologies were chosen and identified. 16S
rRNA genes of isolates were amplified from genomic DNA by PCR and determined sequences. The nearly complete 1440 bp nucleotide sequences of 16S rRNA were used for phylogenetic analysis. Corynebacterium sp, Brevibacterium sp, Sphingomonas sp, Methylobacterium sp, Streptomyces sp, Micrococcus sp, Krebsiella sp. and Pseudomonas sp. showed alginate
lytic activity. Candidatus Chryseobacterium sp. and 2 Pseudomonas sp. showed strong proteolytic and lipolytic activity. Acknowledgement : This work was financially supported by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy(MKE) and Korea Industrial Technology Foundation (KOTEF)
