There has been an increased interest in the use of vegetable oils due to low cost and large quantity production. Vegetable oils can be used as raw materials to prepare eco-friendly biodegradable polymer materials. In this study, poly(β-aminoester) was synthesized by mixing acrylated epoxidized soybean oil (AESO), 2-aminoethanol, and dichloromethane through thermal polymerization. Polymer films were prepared by changing the molar ratio of AESO and 2-aminoethanol at 1:1, 2:3, and 1:2. Polymerization was investigated using FT-IR spectroscopy. Two mechanical properties (tensile strength and elongation at break) of the polymer films were examined using universal testing machine (UTM). The highest tensile strength and elongation at break were obtained when the molar ratio of AESO and 2-aminoethanol was 2:3.
